Temporary Exhibitions Building

Τhe Temporary Exhibitions building has neoclassical architectural elements and consists of two residential wings that extend from either side of the main entrance on the ground and first floor. The building features an enterior courtyard and an enclosed wooden loggia, the typical balcony of old Athenian residences.

The interior of both houses features painted decorations with floral and geometric motifs on the ceilings and crown moldings, as well as in the covered courtyard of the main entrance.

Restoration work revealed valuable objects that had been concealed in the masonry, traces of the lives of those who had lived there over the years. The residents had hidden the items there to safeguard them and maybe sell them later should the need arise. Today, they are part of the exhibition at the Museum of Modern Greek Culture.
